Media Integration

Live broadcasts in HotMic pull directly from the Asset Library. Anything an organization or creator has added to their Asset Library — images, videos, backgrounds, overlays, stickers — is available inside the Creator Studio and inside every Template.

What You Can Use in a Broadcast

  • Images — Any image in the Asset Library can be used as an overlay (on top of host video) or as a background (behind host video, with AI background removal in front).
  • Videos — B-roll, clips, intros, outros, replays, and any other video added to the Asset Library can be played live inside the stream.
  • Backgrounds — Branded or scene-specific backgrounds drop straight in for use with background removal.
  • Overlays — Logos, lower thirds, scoreboards, banners, and any other on-screen graphic from the Asset Library.
  • Stickers — Reactive overlays creators can drop on screen for emphasis.
  • Live Broadcasts — Creators can pull in another live broadcast (e.g., a partner stream, a network feed, or an external live event) and run their own camera as a picture-in-picture on top of it. Requires permission from the broadcast owner before it can be used as a media source.

If an asset is in your Asset Library, it's available for use in any live stream by any creator with access to it.

Additional Media Sources

Beyond the Asset Library, hosts can also bring in:

  • Screen sharing — A host's screen or a specific application window, used as a primary or background source. See Creator Audio & Video.
  • Getty Images and AP Images — Stock libraries searchable directly inside the Creator Studio for in-the-moment editorial content.
  • B-roll stock footage — Stock video clips searchable in the Creator Studio for quick use during a broadcast.

Real-Time Playback

For uploaded videos, playback controls (play, pause, seek, volume, mute) are synced across all viewers in real time.

Media Lock

When multiple co-hosts are on a broadcast, a media lock system prevents conflicts. Only one host can control media at a time. If another host tries to change media while it is locked, they see a warning indicating which host currently has control.
