Video Editor
A state-of-the-art browser editor with multi-track timeline, transitions, overlays, captions, audio mixing, color, speed ramps, picture-in-picture, and multi-format export.
HotMic includes a state-of-the-art video editor with the full set of capabilities expected from a modern editing platform: multi-track timeline editing, precise cut and trim, transitions, overlays, lower thirds, branded graphics and text, captions, audio mixing, color adjustments, speed ramps, picture-in-picture composition, and export to multiple formats and aspect ratios.
The editor offers two primary advantages within HotMic:
- Professional-grade editing. Creators have access to the capabilities required to produce polished, publish-ready content without leaving the platform or relying on external tools.
- Native to the content workflow. The editor is integrated directly into the broader HotMic content pipeline, so all feedback — notes, revisions, approvals, and rejections — is captured on-platform. Producers, programmers, and admins can review and respond inline, and creators can address that feedback without context-switching. The entire review process, from initial cut to published clip, takes place in a single environment.
Source Content
Every piece of content produced in HotMic — live streams, recordings, and creator uploads — is automatically pushed through to the Video Editor for further editing, refinement, and publishing. Regardless of how content originates, it converges in a single editing environment where the same capabilities, review workflow, and approval process apply.
Clip Lifecycle
Content in the Video Editor moves through four states as it progresses through the review and publishing workflow:
- Drafts Work-in-progress clips that have not yet been submitted for review.
- In Review Clips submitted for review and currently awaiting feedback from a producer, programmer, or admin.
- Action Required Clips that have reviewer notes or rejections that the creator needs to address before resubmitting.
- Published Clips that have been approved and published to the destination.
