Platform

Introduction

A white-label video platform that powers creator-led, interactive experiences inside your app — live streams, recorded content, and publishing-ready clips, end to end.

HotMic is a white-label video platform that powers creator-led, interactive experiences inside your app. It gives your team everything needed to launch and scale a creator program — from live streams and recorded content to publishing-ready clips — without sending users to a third-party social platform.

This documentation covers how the HotMic platform works, how it's organized, and how to integrate it into your apps.

Your Creator Studio, Ready on Day One

Onboarding begins with HotMic provisioning a complete, production-ready Creator Studio for your team. Every capability your creators need — live streaming, recording, editing, AI clipping, chat, polls, monetization, sponsorship tools, and more — is included and configured by default.

There is no studio to build. Onboarding focuses on tailoring the platform to your organization:

  • Branding — Applying your colors, logos, and theme.
  • Roles & access — Inviting admins, creators, producers, and programmers.
  • Feature flags — Enabling or disabling specific capabilities at the organization or creator level.
  • SDK integration — Embedding the viewing experience into your iOS, Android, and Web apps.

Once onboarding is complete, your team can sign in to a fully branded Creator Studio and begin producing content — typically within a matter of days.

Core Products

HotMic is built around four products that map to the full creator lifecycle:

  • Live Streaming — A browser-based production studio where creators run interactive live broadcasts: AI-moderated chat, polls, contests, guest call-in, Q&A, advertising integrations, and sponsorship tools. Streams are delivered into your apps through our SDKs.
  • Recording Studio — Studio-quality multi-host recording for creators producing on their own time. Includes Hooks (topic prompts you push to creators) and Creator Content Management (review, approval, and publishing workflows).
  • Video Editing Studio — A built-in editor where creators polish recordings and uploads with trims, transitions, captions, and brand styling. Supports collaborative review with timestamped notes and a Clip Manager for moving content through approval to publish.
  • AI Clipping — Automatically detects, clips, and formats the best moments from streams and recordings into short-form video — turning every broadcast into a library of shareable content.

Platform Components

Underneath the products, HotMic is a multi-tenant platform with the following building blocks:

  • Creator Studio — Where creators produce, edit, and publish content.
  • Admin Tools — For onboarding creators, managing organizations, assigning roles, and configuring feature flags and branding.
  • Producer Tools — For staff to monitor, moderate, and manage live and recorded content in real time.
  • SDKs — iOS, Android, and JavaScript SDKs that embed the viewing experience inside your apps.
  • Webhooks & APIs — For syncing content state, user identity, monetization events, and analytics with your backend.
