Guest Call-In

The Guest Call-In feature allows viewers to request a live appearance on a broadcast. Hosts control who joins, when they join, and can remove guests at any time.

Guest Call-In is available in Easy Mode (browser-based) broadcasts only. It is not available when using Advanced Mode (RTMP).

Enabling Guest Call-In

Before going live, the host enables guest requests from the Guests tab in the Creator Studio left panel. This activates a "Join" button visible to viewers in the app.

The host can customize the call-to-action shown to viewers, including:

  • Request title and message
  • Waiting screen text
  • Approval message and button text

Guest Request Flow

  1. Viewer requests to join — The viewer taps the "Join" button in the app and sends a request.
  2. Request appears in Creator Studio — The host sees pending requests in the Guests panel.
  3. Host reviews — The host can preview the guest's video feed before accepting.
  4. Host accepts or declines — Accept adds the guest to the broadcast; decline removes the request.
  5. Guest goes live — The guest's video/audio feed appears in the broadcast composition.
  6. Guest or host can end — The guest can leave voluntarily, or the host can remove them at any time.

Guest Management

From the Guests panel, hosts can:

  • Accept Approve a guest request and add them to the broadcast.
  • Decline Reject a guest request.
  • Remove Remove a currently live guest from the broadcast.
  • Block Block a user from making future guest requests.

Guest Status

  • Waiting — Request submitted, pending host review.
  • Invited — Approved, guest has not yet joined.
  • Live — Guest is actively participating in the broadcast.

Technical Notes

  • The host can preview guest video before accepting the request.
  • Guest requests and status changes are synchronized across all co-hosts via polling.
